About Divnogorsk
The Institute is situated in one of the cleanest, “green” cities of Russia – the city of Divnogorsk, Krasnoyarsk Region.
The first settlement that appeared on the territory of the present-day city was Krasnoyarsk Znamenskiy skete founded in 1888 by monk Philaret.
In 1956 the first builders of Krasnoyarsk hydropower station started coming to Skete settlement and in 1957 Skete settlement was renamed settlement Divnogorsk*, in honour of the picturesque hills situated on the opposite bank of the Yenisei River. In 1963 Divnogorsk officially became a city.
